Songs and spoken word with a cinematic, poetic sensibility
I write thoughtful, reflective pieces that pair voice with piano, often adding strings, winds and subtle electronic textures. The music sits between song, film music and sound art.
I’m based in Glasgow and work with artists and collaborators internationally.
The songs and arrangements are beautiful, like little jewelled boxes

Arranging
I arrange music for my own work and for others, with a focus on string quartet, winds and brass. Arrangements are developed using MIDI and instrumental libraries, and delivered as fully notated scores for session musicians.
I am happy to work collaboratively to shape arrangements around a song, voice or existing material.

Challenges our perspectives about modern music and draws us into some fascinating story telling

Piano
I work as a session pianist and keyboard player, performing on acoustic piano and a range of keyboards.
My playing is sensitive and supportive, with a strong emphasis on musical intent. I’m comfortable working from lead sheets, scores, or improvised frameworks, and enjoy shaping parts collaboratively.
I can record remotely on a Schimmel C180 grand piano, using a matched pair of Neumann KM184 microphones, or I’m equally happy to work in a studio environment.
I also perform with Out of the Blue, a live Joni Mitchell songbook project.
