Maria Quinn
Maria Quinn is a songwriter, pianist and composer working across song, film and spoken word. Her piano-led work has a cinematic, poetic sensibility, blending intimate vocals with detailed arrangements for strings, winds and subtle electronics. She is drawn to collaboration and to music that develops in dialogue with image, text and narrative, often exploring darker emotional terrain through carefully shaped song.
Meltwater
Meltwater is a five-song EP written in collaboration with lyricist Colin Macduff.
The songs explore hidden worlds, darkness, ice and thawing, drawing on imagery of fragility, change and emotional exposure.
Featuring voice, piano, string quartet, winds, percussion and subtle electronic textures, the EP balances intimacy with a cinematic sense of space.

Biography
Based in Glasgow, Maria’s work spans song, film and spoken word, with a focus on piano-led writing, atmosphere and narrative. She collaborates widely and is particularly interested in music that responds to text, image and story.
About the collaboration
Colin Macduff is an Aberdeen-based songwriter whose lyrics often have a strong poetic quality. He has released three guitar-led albums with producer Angus Lyon, all featuring musical contributions from Maria. He is particularly interested in collaborations bringing words and music together.
