Maria Quinn is a songwriter, pianist and composer working across song, film and spoken word. Meltwater

Meltwater is a five-song EP written in collaboration with lyricist Colin Macduff. The songs explore hidden worlds, darkness, ice and thawing, drawing on imagery of fragility, change and emotional exposure. Featuring voice, piano, string quartet, winds, percussion and subtle electronic textures, the EP balances intimacy with a cinematic sense of space.

Biography

Maria Quinn is a songwriter, pianist and composer based in Glasgow. Her work spans song, film and spoken word, with a focus on piano-led writing, atmosphere and narrative. She collaborates widely and is particularly interested in music that responds to text, image and story.

Colin Macduff is a songwriter based in Aberdeen. His lyrics often have a strong poetic quality. He has recorded three guitar-led albums to date working with Angus Lyon. Each of these has featured musical contributions from Maria. Colin is interested in word and music based collaborations, particularly with performing musicians.
